Renovations make this biggest mosque in Southeast Asia better. Many pilgrims come from other cities in Indonesia. Tourists can also visit this place. There is a tourist desk that will guide you. Just watch your clothes (polite dress)

Amazingly beautiful architecture inside. Amazing renovation work too. It’s really huge. Enormous capacity, especially during Eid. One of the biggest mosque in SEA i think. We came on saturday night, during magrib prayer. Ablution area rather clean enough.
Lots of visitor from outside city. The facility post renovation is well maintained and proper.
There is large parking space in the basement. It takes a bit long walk from parking to the mosque.

Istiqlal Mosque or Independence Mosque') in Jakarta, Indonesia is the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and the sixth largest mosque in the world in terms of worshipper capacity. Built to commemorate Indonesian independence, this national mosque of Indonesia was named "Istiqlal", an Arabic word for "independence". The mosque was opened to the public on 22 February 1978. Within Jakarta, the mosque is positioned next to Merdeka Square and the Jakarta Cathedral and also of the Immanuel Church. The mosque was formerly the location of the Wilhelminapark and a 19th-century Citadel.

After the renovation, I suppose this mosque is the most comfortable mosque in Indonesia.

Nevertheless, the road from the parking lot to the main hall is really really far

My dad who is 62 years old was struggle enough with this circumstances.

I hope the management could bring some breakthrough for this

Simply the largest mosque in Southeast Asia! Newly renovated during pandemic, so every facility is proper, clean and well maintained.
