Martabak buntut for 98 K IDR++. Martabak telur made with oxtail pieces which was prepared just like their signature oxtail soup.
The martabak was light and fluffy, the batter was smooth and well made, and the crust was crunchy - all the signs of a good martabak. Personally i would still prefer their crust to be burnt a little bit more to make it even crispier, but i guess most would still prefer a smooth silky taste since the crust is crunchy enough anyway.
Everything was par for the course, including the pickles and the pricing - especially considering how other purveyors price their martabaks nowadays. Even the sauce was a testament of how refined they have managed this street food, which is also soul food, for many Indonesians - it was just the right amount of sour, sweet, and spicy. Personally i would have loved it a bit more sour and spicy and a bit thicker, but seriously they delivered such a refined experience of martabak.
All in all, it is a bit pricy, but the quality speaks for itself. Furthermore, i have got to give it to them for delivering such a refined rendition of street food in such a luxurious setting. I do hope others will follow their lead in showing just how good and diverse Indonesian food is.
