Bad experience. Looks nice from the outside, and the lobby is also quite beautiful, but the rooms are terrible. Only one lift worked, and very slowly, leading to excessive waiting periods (10+ minutes) during busy times. The rooms are terribly dirty. Everything is covered in cigarette burn stains and everything is dirty. Bathroom appliances are rusted or missing. AC was old and creaky, so loud it woke me up at night. You can hear everything from neighbouring rooms. For whatever reason one afternoon the hotel staff tried to enter my room without anouncing who they are or what they want. Luckily I had the door locked from the inside. When I said that they're at the wrong door (thinking they are another guest who has mistaken the room numbers) they continued trying to open it, then louder through the door what they wanted they just said "Oh just checking." seemingly suprised that I was there and went away. Oh, and finally the pool, was disused. Just filled with brown dirty rainwater.

"A Hotel past of its Glory" a fitting definition for the oldest hotel in Balikpapan. Once, it was the biggest, the most Luxurious u0026 for the most privileged, but now no more.

After staying for a night, here's are things I can say :
The "kind of scary big old" room u0026 public facilities definitely lacks maintenance. I would give 2.5 Star for the room  u0026 facilities (Lift, stair, etc.) if possible.

The staff are friendly u0026 still able to give the standard of best possible services, adapting with the condition of such facilities. So, it's 4 stars.

Located near the beach, culinaries u0026 many interesting places and facilities you can easily reach in walking distance makes it the best located hotel to stay for a holiday, so 5 stars for the location should be approved.

I recommend this hotel for you who wants to have a group holiday, staying in a big room equiped with err.. "old" facilities, not alone but with friends or familly and you'll get these with low budget. Overall, 3.5 stars.

The covid-19 pandemic has turned the luxury 4 * Benakutai hotel into slums hotel. Too bad.

Sorry but i had a bad experience staying at this hotel, the room's smells really BAD, And the hotel is scary

You can hear everything from the next room, I don't know why. I couldn't get quite sleep at night when I stayed there. The tv was broken u0026 a poor wifi connection. The most annoying part was the broken phone. So every time I needed to ask something, I should go to the lobby. I have told the receptionist about the phone u0026 tv but nothing has been done. I also requested to move to another room (twice), but they said the hotel was full. But when I checked in Reddoors app, the room was still available. I don't understand what's going on. Not satisfying at all.

The facilities are quite complete, unfortunately the cleanliness is still "a bit" lacking.????

There is a ballroom for events, quite spacious and comfortable????

One of the coolest, I can see the view of the city of Balikpapan and planes passing by, especially if Runway 7 Sepinggan Airport is active✈✈????????????????
