The local monument of Surabaya city is a statue that is located near the entrance of the city zoo, which is comprised of the shark (suro) and crocodile (boyo). The two white creatures fought each other in order to gain the title of "the strongest and most powerful animal" according to a local myth. The two animals that are facing each other while circling are also depicted in the city's logo. Beautiful monument, I'd say!

The very essence of the of the Sura-Baya, is depicted here in the monument SuroBoyo. It is the official monument of Surabaya. Its a good place to take your photos with family. Also, Surabaya Zoo is located very close by for fun and frolic

The iconic monumen, the symbol of Surabaya city. Located near the Surabaya zoo. Too bad, it is not well maintained. The park surrounding it is close for access and there is loosed electrical cable.
