I guess they don't really take care the taste for ice creams and foods anymore. The omelette was literally telor dadar, so dry and not enough seasoning. The bread that came with it, was a bit underbaked. The ice creams tasted very average. Luckily they still maintain the cakes. If you love cake jadoel then you will love this place.

Legendary restaurant! Tried the ice cream and it tasted like traditional sorbet ice cream instead of the creamy one. It tasted unique tho! The donut was quite surprising cause it was like 4 small balls with peanut inside which taste very yummy and savoury! Horen was great as well. Tarts were a bit too dry for me somehow. But the cake was so yummy, moist, and full of flavour. Definitely worth to try

4304 reviews today. Tip top restaurant is perhaps the oldest restaurant in Medan Town, it's building is artistic and historical style, built-in the days of the Dutch in Indonesia. There's another historical building just right across the street called Tjong Ah Fie. I don't read so much about Medan history, but I'm pretty sure this place was a place where people of those olden days came by for food and relaxing leisure time. I just couldn't imagine how and what kind of lifestyle people were living on that past long ago time. It must be fun, clean air, clean environment with lots of trees everywhere that produces more oxygen and convinced that time people were more friendly and caring. Yup, one of those days was the good old days. ❤️ God bless you all ????

Best fried rice ever. It's just weird that they don't accept credit card but accept debit. Overall this place is a must visit for me whenever I go to Medan. The ice cream is not that delicious, at least for me it's not. Which is why we decided not to order it the second time we were here.

The only good thing about this place was the food, and the history worth to be noting for. But the rest of it, not good enough to waste anymore of your time.
There's two section for the patrons to eat, the outer side and the inside, but amazingly both sides have the same capability to make your body drench in sweat because of the heat in just fifteen minutes you spent your time there.
The fans and the air conditioning seems not slightest bit working, although they seem shows working very hard. The servants are not showing they even bothered by the heat.

Old school style of ice “cream”, do take note that the ice itself is not creamy but was very delicious. They also sells snacks such as chicken risol and sosisbrud both are must try!
To those who like a little liquor in their desert should try their java ice which contain rum.

Old resto still well maintain and operates, they keep maintain their old fashion recepisse.

Its a must have to visit in Medan!!

I wont give a compare taste, because you will get different taste compare to new tipe resto.
