3 Sua Truong - a month ago
I'll do my best to review new places I'll visit in the future with this Clint Eastwood theme:
The good: love the decor, layout and lighting. We arrived just before 7 PM. Great staff that smiles and very fast to get their attention (we're the only table being served here for awhile until another customer came).
Menu selection was a bit of Vietnamese, Russian and Indonesian.
Very clean bathroom. ????????
The bad: my Vietnamese grilled chicken was missing flavor at the top and as I get to the lower pieces, it became much saltier. This is because the chicken was probably marinated just right before cooking instead of marinating earlier in the day or previous day. Not evenly distributed the spices.
Vietnamese pho broth was missing that tang and smell of (star anise and other herbs). At least they had the 3 bottles that is mandatory for Pho (fish sauce and chili sauce FTW).
The ugly: thankfully nothing seriously bad here which could deter is from coming back to give them a second chance.
Summary:
The problem with businesses that tries to do everything like jack-of-all-trade is that they won't please everyone and might even turn off those who are looking for the specific dishes which they could have done better if they were being specialized at to become expert in the community.
If I go to a Thai restaurant in Bali, I wouldn't expect Russian or Balinese dishes... Not saying that's bad. Those who understand will get it though.
Would I be back? Uncertain...
