Probably the best meal we had during our two week holiday in Bali and Lombok. Tucked away in Sanur, this warung serves Indonesian food from the different islands. We ordered mainly Balinese dishes and all were superb. The nuances of flavours, smoky, spices, chilli, fresh and umami. Every meal was quality. You can see the staff care about food and service. It was restaurant quality food at Warung prices. Excellent!!!

After almost 2 years closed Chef Mudana and his team of Dede and Made are giving the most fantastic cooking lessons in Balinese, Indonesian and Sumatran cuisine!

After we were picked up from our villa by the lovely Wayan, we were greeted by the smiles and hospitality of the team in a way only the Balinese know how - all in perfect English too.

We spent 2 hours cooking a huge array of Balinese dishes but also learnt about the balance of flavours and key ingredients, many picked from Chef's own garden. The team watched over us carefully as we laughed and joked about our skills, and our garbled Bahasa.

The lesson was so fun but the food - oh wow! Every dish was tingling with flavour and through our great tuition - perfectly balanced with lime juice, salt and chilli. For my girlfriend who is not as keen on anything too spicy every dish was adapted for both our pallets. We had so much leftover we will have a feast for dinner too.

This was easily one of the best meals we had in Bali. The Indonesian food was incredible, and the prices very reasonable. Shout out to Made - you were a fantastic waiter! The other staff were also very friendly.

This is my top recommendation for a delicious meal in Sanur. We will be back!

We stumbled across this cute Warung one evening on our way home. Mudana and his team were super nice. He's very passionate about food and the restaurant offers a great selection of delicious Indonesian and Balinese dishes and fresh juices. Highly recommended!

Wonderful meal at Warung Makan SMS. When he heard we wished we had time to take a class, the chef insisted on sharing his recipes. The food was excellent, the service was warm, speedy and accurate. This may have been the best meal we had in Bali!

Delicious and very fresh food, great service. Staff was so friendly! We really enjoyed coming here and would definetely come back when we are back in Sanur. Prices were very good too.
