Every Jakartans who had been tried the famous oxtail soup here, must have been own a soft spot in their hearts for this particular dish.

The Oxtail still tasted as the same as i was here years ago. The texture is tender, juicy, and really easy to come off from the bones.
But not for the soup. It tasted so different from it used to be. It was too sweet, runny, and not good enough.

I thought it was because i ordered the grilled oxtail. But when i tried the original ones, the broth still tasted the same. So basically, all soups for the oxtail, are basically the same, regardless how you want your oxtail to be served.

The Australian tenderloin steak was nice. The way they’ve grilled it, was fine. Too bad the mushroom sauce wasn’t really good.

Service was good. And the place was pretty celan, considered how old is this building.

Good buffet at Bogor Cafe Hotel Borobudur. Bit sad that the Sop Buntut is not included anymore in the buffet, but overall still a pleasant dining experience.

food quality good and the taste was nice. ambiance well enough not too crowded when I went there. the staff were very nice and helpful. our favourite is the sop buntut legendaris (oxtail soup legendary) and baso (meatball)???? 400k++ for adult (senior above 61yo could get special price by give the ID card for evidence) various menu from Indonesian soup dishes, Chinese noodle, Italian pasta, Japanese sushi, meat, seafood, cake, and dessert.

Nice, cozy and spacious place to spend time with your fam, friends or colleagues. Food and desserts are good in taste and plating. My fave are salmon sashimi, sirloin with mushroom n dabu2 sauce, beef n chicken satay, lobster, oxtail soup, grapes pie....all sooo yummy. Great service from all the resto crews.

Honestly literally one of the best Oxtail soup in Indonesia. Why the 2 stars though? Because quite literally as well, the inconsistency on serving is unbelievable. On one day they give you Oxtail Soup dish with “decent” amount of Oxtail, but on another day you eat there the Oxtail shrank by half ????. To be honest it’s not a cheap food as well, but heading here it’s starting to feel like it’s just not worth it.

To Borobudur Hotel Management, I hope you’re reading this, please please please fix this issue. Unbelievable, I am beyond comment at the restaurant today, the amount of food served is WAY LESS than Sop Buntut Ibu Samino ????????u200d♂️, but Ibu Samino price way less too. Am I judging the food unfairly by the “class” probably? But by the tenderness Ibu Samino can probably compare to Bogor Cafe’s Oxtail, the price though, Samino completely obliterated Bogor Cafe’s dish price.

To summarize, just one word: disappointing

I think the standard drop a bit. Maybe the soup is not hot enough or stew long enough. Or maybe is the post pandemic and the kitchen is not picking up the pace yet. Hopefully the next time I come back, it's better.
