The Risata has been my favourite Bali resort for many years. After a 2 year Covid absence we returned 6-20 Aug 22. The owners/management should hang their heads in shame.
The Good. The grounds are as beautiful as ever. The staff are as helpful and friendly as ever.
The Bad. The rooms, buildings and pool area are a disgrace. Little to no maintenance. Gutters falling off, paint peeling, tiles cracked and missing, pool furniture falling apart. In our room we had a leaking toilet for 2 weeks. Makes it impossible for the cistern to fill to flush. Little wonder the resort sewerage pit overflowed. We had no hot water for 4 days. At least that was fixed but 4 days with no hot water is not acceptable. I reported the problems 3 times only to be told they needed to buy parts. No, they couldn't move us because the only functional rooms were occupied. There are blocks of rooms closed up because of water damage.
The rooms are a disgrace. Scratch marks, loose fittings, mould. The room furnishings are torn and dirty.
Instead of taking profits out of the resort, how about the owners put some money back in the form of maintenance and repairs.
The tragedy is we took friends and I had told them how beautiful the Risata was. It was previously. It is not anymore.
A true disgrace for my favourite resort.

Located in a good spot. Close to the beach, but not right on it. That's how I prefer it. I traveled in May 2022, soon after tourism resumed after the pandemic induced lockdown. The on property restaurant was still closed. However, the resort kitchen and service was functional and had all the basics covered. The rooms are fairly good. The swimming Pool is good. There are a number of restaurants, money changers and convenience stores nearby. You can spend the day relaxing in the resort or use it as a base to go sightseeing and return in the evening. Overall, happy with the place.

After 2 months in Bali and experiencing amazing service at all our other accommodation sadly this one let us down. My husband got sick 5 hours from our flight hence we had to quickly find accommodation close to the airport, get him in bed and get a doctor in. While waiting for the doctor I went to reception to ask for a glass of ice. I was told the bar was closed but I could go to the mini mart over the road and buy some. I was a little shocked by this. Anyway next morning I got sick and we managed to get another room and I was treated by doctor. After nearly 24 hours of recovery for both of us and hardly eating we went out to get some bread and butter (as told toast was one of the few things we could eat). Got bread but not butter. So I went to reception and asked if I could have some butter, told to wait in room and it would be sent. Didn't come so I went to restaurant/bar area and asked for some. Request was met by confused staff and when I begged they bought our 2 x 1cm cubes. Asked for a bit more which met with further confusion until I realised they wanted me to pay for it. Enough said I was gobsmacked.
Anyway besides our first really unsettling experience the accommodation was dated but comfy rooms, however very dark. Had what was needed but toaster not working and some dirty cutlery in draw. Pool nice enough. Basic buffet breakfast. Beautiful tropical garden setting and well cared for. Not normally our taste in accommodation but that's individual choice. Price for our situation was good. Location to airport great.

Perfect place for a lazy vacay.
The heritage styled look will put you into a relaxed mode instantly.
Staff are equally polite and accommodating to most requests.
Quite near from the airport, IDR100k should get you to the place in a taxi.
Near to the Kuta beach, and equally close to the evening attractions nearby.

It’s been one of the worst welcome to any country. This resort / hotel is garbage. We landed bali and came to this place: The help desk weren’t responsive when we came down. We were 8 people with 4 rooms for 5 nights. We cancelled our stay here the first hour itself.

The hotel and room is worn out, the bathtub was dirty when we walked in, the tea cups and spoons were unwashed. The staff is so blah.

We requested during the checkin to help us with the bags, they didn’t help. We asked for extra towels and brush, they said we can’t give you anything extra.

We now checked into a new hotel and are relieved.

Worst staff! Worst place and rooms! Have seen rats around the lobby and they do not maintain the place! Staff is so so rude! Had the worst experience here. Better to stay somewhere trustable and safe place!
