The people here were so friendly. They offered help to accompany me having a sight-seeing around the Chinatown. But I'd rather had my walk alone coz being accompanied would took many of my short time

I was welcomed with courtesy. even though we adhere to different beliefs. I think this the truly Indonesian character , where social differences in daily life should never affect our integrity and nationality ....

This is also one of the oldest temples in surabaya, build around 1800s, almost 200 years. On the 1 st and 15 th of chinese lunar calendar, or during the special moments (deities birthday, or chinese festival) you can see more people pray.

Situated in the corner of Jl Coklat and Jl Slompretan, known also as Hok An Tiong Temple. This small yet interesting place of worship is one of three temples located in Chinatown, in old quarter of Surabaya.

Temple place on selompretan street ,place it self color with bright red like any other temple .its peaceful place in the middays so quite there . If u looking to pray and not too crowded then you can come noon , but i think you better use bike because the traffic in the area is so busy with ppl loading stuff because its so much warrhouse in the area with so narrow street and so many truck parking and loading . . But the temple is peaceful eventhough it place in such crazy busy area ,you can still focus in your praying there ,with so many god and goddes in the temple .also this is one of the oldest temple in surabaya city ,you can also see your fortuned because there someone can speak chinese and read your fortuned teller letter one you asked from god or goddes in the temple . .anyway when you there and lost to find the address just asking for the ppl in area (klenteng selompretan) its the famous name of the tample , enjoy the visit if you looking for one of heritage in town
