I absolutely loved the Batik fabric dye class offered by Threads Of Life. It was such a fascinating experience to learn about how fabrics are naturally dyed from such humble looking leaves. The creative part of the class was so relaxing and fulfilling. I loved the piece I created and using traditional tools and having everything come from nature. This was a really special experience.

Threads of Life is a treasure. One of the only organisations working to revitalise weaving in Bali and Indonesia. The store is magic: go and let your eyes feast on all things natural dye and textile related. Humans are amazing creators!

Beautiful handmade items from artisans. Bought a basket, some incense and small gifts to take back. Didn’t find this quality anywhere else. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Small but really interesting little museum. Has examples of various traditional textiles, some for sale. Free to look round the place.

Stopped in here today to peruse the textiles. There are some beautiful weaves and some very talented weavers keeping tradition alive. I’d hoped to find some cushion covers for our sofa but nothing quite worked for our decor. Instead I left with a beautiful silk scarf that was very well priced and one of a kind. Don’t miss this spot in Ubud

This place does a fantastic job of explaining native craft traditions especially about weaving and dyeing on the Indonesian archipelago. Many beautiful pieces are available for purchase. They also offer tours and hands-on crafting experiences during the year. Well worth a visit if you're in Ubud.

Very high quality fair trade shop. Prices are much higher than what else you'll find in Bali, but you can tell the workers will be properly paid and there is a large sustainable effort. Keep it up!
