Good place. The menu is largely European with some Asian touches. We had the tapas to start followed with a burger. The starter was great. We chose mostly deep fried small dishes and we were pleasently surprised that the food was crisp and not oily at all. The only critic we can make is to the guacamole. It was a bit bland. Our main was nice but the beef patty was again unseasoned and I would love another sauce in the burger in place of ketchup. Overall, great place, very nice staff and really good price for what you get. We will definitely go back soon.

More of a casual Italian, food is good for the price you are paying (5 stars for that). Menu is a bit limited but otherwise not a bad choice if you wanna move out from the crowds. Would go there again to get a quick italian fix???? oh service is also good.

Went to Papillon for Valentines Day. We really love this French Resturant with a great view on the second floor.

We ordered one of the Valentines day set which had the following:
Appetisers: Duck Foie Gras with Pear Chutney and Toasted Gingerbread
Main: Chicken breast with truffle sauce, asparagus and baby potatoes
Dessert: Chocolate mousse and Ginger Torch Sorbet

We also ordered a few more al carte items:
Mahi-Mahi Appetisers, Beef with Fries Mains and Caramel Mille-Feuille Dessert.

The appetisers were really great and it was a great start to our meal. The Chicken breast was done really well, it soft and tender and the truffle sauce was lovely. The beef was also cooked perfectly based on our preference of medium rare.

Lastly, the desserts were a great finish to the meal. The Chocolate mousse and ginger sorbet was a nice contrast to each other. the Caramel Mille-feuille was done perfectly love how the pastry crispy was still crispy.

I been to several western restaurants in Ubud and this is really the best restaurant with an affordable price. Didn’t manage to meet the owner/chef, will be giving my compliments through this review.

If I am in Ubud, I will be back!

The moment you enter, I was greeted with smile, friendliness, and good music. The place had a classy feeling to it and very clean. The price was good given the quality of the food. I was presented with a welcome drink and a small appetizer after my order was taken. I had a Mahi mahi with vegetables and chocolate spring rolls for dessert, it was amazing. The presentation was superb and taste was delicious. Dwi was very friendly, and she gave an excellent service overall. I recommend this place. It's a bit far from Ubud center but worth the travel. Unfortunately I found this place by accident on my last day in Ubud. Will definitely come back if given another opportunity to come to Bali.

Tuna and cafe gourmand were extraordinary! The camebert salad and vegetable tartine I would not order again. Really like the place though and will come back.

My family and I love papillon! Your meal starts with an amuse bouche. (that is always delicious!) the appetizers, mains and desserts are all so good. I haven't found anywhere else in Ubud with the quality at the price that Papillon has. The staff and owner are all lovely. I can't say enough good things ????

For a quality fine dining experience at affordable price look no further a memorable meal for sure.
