We stayed at Lameli for 3 months. I’m not sure they do long-term stays anymore. It’s beautiful villa with a beautiful view. It's definitely worth spending some time getting in touch with nature in this villa!
Pros –
1. Beautiful view: facing the jungle. It’s amazing to spend so much time surrounded by nature. The living room is open concept with 2 fans that really helps in the hot afternoons. Lovely view! You can really connect with nature at this villa.
2. Staff: Staff are amazing. Putra is always, always available no matter when you message him. He’s so diligent and hardworking. Made our stay so much better!
3. Good for remote working: They have a table and chair facing the jungle, so it’s a really nice place to work from (if you work remotely). They gave us an extra table and chair when we asked – really convenient.
4. Lots of light: not just natural light, but they had lamps and pot lights.
Cons –
1. Location: It’s a little far from the centre of town so you need a motorbike to get around, but that’s normal for Ubud. Takes 30 minutes to walk into town. Bella pizza is next door for late night cravings – good pizza!
2. Open concept: As with all open concept homes, you can’t stay out past 6 pm without getting bitten to death by mosquitos.
3. Wet and moldy in bedroom: We found that our clothes started to develop mold after a few weeks. It’s the reality of living next to nature and in Ubud, but we had to take all of our clothes out of the bedroom so they wouldn’t develop mold. We have lived in other villas in Ubud and didn’t have to deal with mold to that extent.
4. Two levels: The villa has two levels. Bedrooms are at the lower level, which isn’t fun to lug your suitcases up and down. It’s also a hassle to come up for water or snacks at night. It gets really dark with giant geckos so going up those stairs at night isn’t ideal.
5. Pool is small.
