This is by far the best boat experience and team ever. I am easily able to book my tickets on WhatsApp with my boat ticket agent Ari (but you can also WhatsApp Tanis to get tickets — KITAS holders have discount from foreigners FYI), then pay and get my tickets at their booth at suburban. Then wait for the team to direct us to the boat. I like that when we get tickets, they give us a lanyard/color-assigned neck tag, so you know which group you’re on.

Then when boarding the boat, the team is so helpful and the drive is so smooth, quick and beautiful. I try to be first to board top deck because I love the view and the captains music playlist. I am not even sure if you can hear it on the main deck but it’s a fun time for me.

Whenever I arrive to the dock at Penida for my return trip to Sanur, the staff knows my name. And it just adds a lovely touch to feeling safe and connected to your travel plans.

Lastly, I am sooo sooo grateful for their team bc upon leaving the boat at Sanur, I forgot my bum bag (careless error of my own fault) because I was talking to new friends on boat and had thought I put my bag into my partners back pack. I had texted the WhatsApp of Tanis Boat and my boat agent who reserved the tickets for me. They were so helpful sending me videos of where I may have left it and updates, and immediately next morning, their staff had found the bag and sent it back to me. They even sent a video of what the bag was and what was inside. Nothing taken. I am soooooo grateful. Thank you to Tanis and Ari (my boat agent).

Good option to travel between Bali/Sanur and Lembongan or Nusa Penida, soon they will jave a boat to Gili as well!
They have few different boats

The staff were helpful and the boat and the ride to Lembongan was fine.It was the return trip that was terrible. The boat was older and as the sea was rough the windows had to be closed to stop the seawater coming in,and then the cabin temperature was so hot ,and our fan above didn't work. The worst bit was we were put down in Sanur about 800 m from the offices, and from the beach we had to climb a rock wall about 4m high on a slope.I am 65 and needed help near the top.I don't know how other people got their suitcases, small children etc up the wall as I only had a backpack.

The boat is ok, specially if you sit on the first floor. The tricky part is getting in and out of the boat when there is no dock! Don’t forget your dry bag for your expensive phones and electronics. It is very easy to get all the stuff wet in a second!

If you have the choice, I would not recommend them to anyone. We departed late and the boat was overcrowded. On paper, it was supposed to be a 30 minute trip (we were going to Nusa Penida), but they pushed up the boat for people going to Nusa Lembongan, where we docked before Penida. Of course there was no communication about this. Getting on the boat was also a terrible experience, and a dangerous one at that. All in all, we arrived on the island 2 hours late. Luckily we had no fixed programme for that day... On the way back we took the Angel's Billabong, which was definitely a better experience!

Our day trip to Nusa Penida was cut short because Tanis was 45 mins late to leave the port. No communication what’s so ever and no apologies when I asked if we are leaving after having sat in the boat for 40 mins. The guy just laughed and spoke to his crew mate in Indonesian. Very professional peeps. But seriously, this isn’t a reliable crew and I do not recommend.

We guessed they over sold the 8am boat tickets and started an extra boat that were docked north of the port hiding behind the jetty. We had to walk 10 mins to get to the boat and since there’s not a floating dock, we had to walk into the thigh-high water to get in and out of the boat.

Good option for travelling to the surrounding islands like Lembongan and Penida. The boats are very usually loose with times, expect to board and disembark about 10-25 minutes from the scheduled time. Note you will most likely have to wade through some shallow water to get on. Overall, quite reliable and relatively fast.
