Taman Proklamasi is a park complex located in Central Jakarta, Indonesia. The park is located at the former property of Sukarno at what was known as the house at Jalan Pegangsaan Timur 56. The house, now demolished, is where the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence was first read by Sukarno. Taman Proklamasi complex was located at a plot of land where the former residence of Sukarno at Jalan Pegangsaan Timur 56. President Sukarno declared the independence of Indonesia on August 17, 1945 from the front porch of this house. The house then became known as Gedung Proklamasi (Proclamation Building). Nowadays the place is function as a public park and lot of people often to go in here to gather, socialize or jog around with little exercise too.

A historical place, it's where the first president of Indonesia declared the independence of the nation.. Every monument in the park has it's own meaning and philosophy..

Clean and tidy historical park with several monuments, it becomes a recreational spot for people to do walking, jogging or just spending times with friends. It has a reflexiology path, Moslem praying area and public toilet. No entrance fee, you only need to bin your trash and no trespassing: keep it clean. Oh, it is also a popular spot to do specific events.

For you especially young people, take your time to visit the Proclamation of Independence Monument. Learn from our Predecessors. At least that is a form of respect for the hero of Indonesia's Independence Proclamation.

This park is open daily until 21:00. Well maintained, and public toilet is available.
There is also praying room (musholla) available.
When I was there, it was a group of students singing national's songs. While birds are playing around the big beautiful trees, giving its shadow protecting us from the sun. It was around 10 o'clock in the morning.
It is a real oasis in the middle of the hectic city of Jakarta.
The fact that the place directly connected to Indonesia's independence struggle was just perfect with a book I had read: NUSANTARA, the history of Indonesia.

A historical spot. You can learn an interesting history of Indonesia in here (especially in era Indonesia's Independence). Great spot to do morning jogging or take a good picture.
