3 Adriansyah Putera - 6 years ago
This octagon-shaped monument is worth a visit because of the historic value. The monument was established in 1808 as a reminder of the death of an assassinated British governor in Bencoolen, Thomas Parr, and today it still stands strong. The monument is composed of three arched doorways, a doom and six Corinthian columns in reference to ancient Rome and Greece. It is located at the meeting point of Jl. Ahmad Yani and Jl. Mazairi, very close from the Fort Marlborough. No entrance fee.
I greatly appreciate efforts made by the authorities for paying proper attention and saving this monument from ruining away.
