Nice old British fort in the center of the old town of Bengkulu - staff is helpful (Indonesian only) and they have nice exposition rooms inside the fort - unfortunately only in Indonesian.
Entry price is 5k/person (2021) and you can freely walk around in/on the whole fort.

One of historical place in Bengkulu. The architecture is very unique and still original, because they never have a significant renovation. From the top of this port, you can see the beach and the perfect sunset. Going to Bengkulu? You must putting this biggest port in Asia at the top of your visiting list.

Historical site where you can learn more about English occupation in Bencoolen. The place was clean and well maintained. After you finish fort tour, you can walk to the beach around the fort.

Clean, cheap, and very well-maintaned building and yard. Wide sea side view on top. Not too crowded in holiday yet still lively. Don't expect museum-like environment, it is noisy and no historical explanation.
