Just like typically locally wet market, still conventional but I always love to buy various local food, etc. They sell Halal things including the local food. There is "lontong tunjang" padang in one of the corner of the market and the taste is legend and superb!

Soup is one of meals which you can find at Pasar Baru Koto. It is Padangnese meat soup. Its price is Rp20.000. Besides soup, you also may find lontong, soto, nasi uduk, and drinks. Those melas are good for breakfast.

Lots of dining places here, opens from noon to night. Try Es Pokat (avocado juice with ice) and Bandrek (ginger ale with egg yolks and condensed milk). You'll love it.

It's a traditional food market. You'll find a lot of food stall with a not very various food. I tried the must try food here. The red beans ice (Es Kacang Merah) is very very reccomended and worth to try. Each food stall have a different special menu. This place is perfect for a food adventurer. You have to use your luck for choosing the right stall ;)
