This is my go to hotel. I love the location with Angelina spa right out the front. Beach 5 minute
Walk and lovely guys out the front ready to take you on the bike wherever you need to go.
The rooms are basic but clean. Staff are lovely and pool is good.
They are doing there best to get things up and running again. I stayed in may and also just returned from another stay and will be back in October.
The only annoying thing was the shower. It’s over the bath and water seems to run everywhere. But I just asked for a couple of extra towels and it was no trouble. Also if you leave a $2 tip each morning on your bed you will come back to a cute towel animal. Can’t wait to be back

The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous with fish ponds, water features u0026 an amazing pool with a bar inside!
The hotel amenities had minor flaws but the most disappointing was the room u0026 negligence particularly from food staff. The receptionist kindly upgraded our room with no extra charge but I would have liked to know how lesser room looked as the upgrade was very basic. There was no room phone and no towels provided. The room just wasn't up to standard for what we were paying. The breakfast was atrocious! Breakfast service ended at 11Am and we came at 10:20Am. There was no food, just papaya u0026 watermelon which were crawling with ants. There were a few slices of bread but condiments were also filled with ants.
We immediately requested an early checkout u0026 refund as we has booked to stay another 3 nights.
Understaffing was not an issue, and the reception staff were kind u0026 understanding. I understand that they can't implement the maintenance that this property sorely needs but the owners need to get involved and help this place as it has so much potential!

The food was good and location was great. The outside is cool. Also live music on Friday was really cool. However The room sucked and was dirty. The sheets were dirty. Super old and moldy. I switched rooms upon arrival and was shown three different rooms that were equally bad. I asked for new sheets as I checked in during the evening but was told no one was there to change sheets until 8am morning when staff was there. I wanted to leave but it was dark out and I didn’t want to be search for new room. I took a video and showed front desk main attendant when he arrived Ned T day and he just asked if I got clean sheets by now and I said yes but I couldn’t sleep in bed because sheets from the night were dirty. Room had bad smell and geico/bugs. I was completely creeped out. Also there are no phones in room.

I changed the room from the balcony to the room near the pool, the room is very dirty and smells musty, I understand that the hotel is old, but it has to be clean, towels, staff took to make foot towels, which I sat and watched the staff Do that in my room, blankets, bed linens are not clean, the room smells musty, old and very dirty. It's the first visit that is not very impressed. I think most hotels are like this. There is no difference. So happy, the toilet was so bad that I had to fix the orange room by myself, and a lot of mosquitoes in the bathroom, the staff came to clean, but the pee smelled throughout the four days of staying, the smell of sewage from the bathroom was very foul.

Can only say that this hotel has a long way to go to come back to its former glory . I have no doubt it will . Covid protocols should be the start . Had none. No bottled water to most . Had to rely on the shop across the Rd for most supplies . Including a beer . Have been a long time visitor to Bali and understand the situation Bali and it's people are trying to rectify. I am glad to be part of the recovery. I urge other Australians to venture there. But understand covid rules and regulations are not included in most parts . Be careful

That's the room you will get if you select for 'superior room' with full with mosquitoes... try stay in The Grand Bakas Jungle Retreat Villa with private pool...highly recommended. I was staying there for 4days.
