Originally booked for 3 nights but I ended up stayed an extra few days because Tanaka service was so great. He really cares about his guests and I say guests not customers because he treated me more like a friend. Tanaka is born and raised in Yogjakarta so he has tremendous local knowledge and will help you find things to do if need be. His hostel is very clean kept, floors and rooms were immaculate with working A/C, the location is VERY nice , easy walk to Malioboro street and the surrounding area is booming with life but you wouldn't be able to tell in the room because I felt it kept the street noises out very well. Only downside to that is that you can sleep in well into the day and not even realize it! The hostel is new but Tanaka is working hard to establish himself and he on the right path by providing great service. I would recommend you give him a try if you are looking for more of a personal experience. Oh yeah, theres a nice balcony area with garden/kitchen!

Aftermidnight is such a cozy and clean place. The facilities are modern and well looked after. The owner clearly has a passion for his place and takes great pride in ensuring it is clean. He is very friendly and also offers guide services and tours. I went on one with him and it was lovely. We saw some amazing views of mountains and he is very considerate. Also an amazing photographer! One of the nicest place i've been so far. Simple and very clean, very nice terrasse, market every morning in front of the hostel.
Tanaka, the host, is more than a host, hard to described how good it feels to be welcomed by this funny and very professional guy.

Amazing stay in Aftermidnight Hostel that make my trip more wonderful :)

The owner, Tanaka is very friendly and willing to drive us around. We went many places together such as Hutan Pinus Mangunan, Timang Beach, Watu Lawang and many more!

Other than that, we never worry about foods u0026 drinks. Every local foods were so delicious that introduced by Tanaka! Enjoyed the time we spent together, watched movie, sharing stories, tried gelato ice-cream, drink ginger coffee and the fruits bun!

The location of Aftermidnight is very strategic and easy to assess everywhere. It's highly recommended to every traveller neither family or solo traveller. The facilities of the hostel are completed and very comfortable u0026 clean. Morning market just in front of the hostel. It's so convenient for us to explore real local life.

The best host I've ever met u0026 nice stay!

This Hostel make my first time in Yogya to an amazing stay. The owner is a friendly and helpful man who speak very well english. He offer free pick up Service from the Airport and offer also guided tours. Be sure, he know ecerything about Yogya. You will get every morning a small breakfast to start to explore Yogya and the surrounding Area. You can use the Scooter of the owner for a good price. He will also recommend some places Hause of the main tourism. The rooms are clean and have AC. In the Street from the Hostel will every morning the biggest farmers market in this Area. To malioboro and Train Station tugu just 10 minutes walk.

When i come back to Yogya, i know where i will stay.

The host was very hospitable. We were amazed with how helpful he is. He cooked healthy breakfast for our group and told us about some great places and culinaries. The place was clean and secure. It was located very near to Malioboro. I would stay here again. Great!

A relatively new guesthouse in Yogya. It's clean and has a nice roof terrace where you can cook your own stuff (if you'd like). Easier is to get fresh food from the street as this guesthouse is right in the marketstreet! The host is a very enthousiastic man who is happy to give you the best experience and show you the nicest places in the area. If you're going to Yogyakarta, please make sure to go here!
