The first Chinese Museum in Indonesia that tell about Chinese descendants/cross-culture in Indonesia. It's a great place to learn Chinese culture in Tangerang.

It's clean and the tour guide explain it nicely.

If you come here in the morning, you must walk through the traditional market and the building it's on the right. You might miss it because the sign is very small and covered by the seller.

If you keep walking past the Museum, you will found Boen Tek Bio.

Please keep in mind, you cannot take a picture inside, only the lobby or waiting room.

A heart-warming gem obscuredly located in the middle of a packed traditional market. It carries a lot of history and how one person has taken the initiative to establish the museum is commendable. As much as I would like to give a five-star rating, there's yet some improvement that can be made with the curation of the artefacts and their presentation. It would also be nice that visitors can be given the opportunity to view the exhibit in their own good time and pace as opposed to being guided and ushered. The average Indonesian may find Rp.30,000 a ticket too expensive, but for the experience and continued operation of the museum, I personally find it worthwhile. Hopefully, the founder can acquire the right section of the building as well, in addition to the existing centre and left side, so as to make the whole museum complete.

Definitely the best museum in tangerang, a great place with a lot of collection from old times, the ticket is 25rb and the tour guide really friendly. You can hear the old story and history from this place. Glad to know some people still care about this place, one thing for sure. Please inform the mayor to manage the place because not far there is rubbish bin and garbage truck occasionally park to collect gargabe, too bad

A museum about peranakan culture in Pasar Lama Tangerang. The guide was a great storyteller and the collection was great too. After the tour to the 2 floored house, we can buy souvenirs in the store. Buy kecap benteng and bumbu bakar mertua. Btw no taking picture inside the museum!

A local jewel not much people known. A historical building, built on early days of Batavia. You can learn about chinese benteng tradition and its architecture arts. Do you know how ancient chinese people built a door? Do you know ancient chinese house's door can only be opened from the inside? Come and find the answers!

This museum can be reached by 5 minute walk from Tangerang station. Klenteng Boen Tek Bio is not far from here. This is an impressive old tiong hoa peranakan house. Most of the building parts are still authentic. Formerly a private house then museum. Ticket price is IDR 25.000 per person, this include a guide service whom explained the whole thing inside the museum. They have vast collection of antique goods related to history of tionghoa peranakan in Indonesia (and Batavia for the exact), but taken photo is not allowed inside this museum.

This is definitely must-go place if you visit Tangerang. The house has very good collection of old Chinese stuff, and the guide from the museum staff gives very clear and alive introduction to the history of the house and the surroundings. It is worthy of time and money.
