A very calm place. Beautiful environment. We stopped by this temple on the way from Gilimanuk to our hotel.

What most common people don’t know who give bad reviews just because the Vihara not open during the day is sometimes there are meditation retreat for Buddhists in this Vihara. When there is such retreat, no outsiders are allowed to enter because they would cause tantrum and disturb the trainees and yogis in there. Please be more respectful toward Buddhists who practice their mind through intensive meditation by keeping silence and not doing unnecessary and rude stuffs.

A Buddhist temple known for its divine huge sleeping Budha statue, located in Pupuan-Tabanan. The first floor of the vihara, there is a huge courtyard with many refreshing greenery, While on the second floor you will find the huge white sleeping Buddha Statue and further up to the third floor you will find another Buddha statue in a sitting position in a chamber made especially for worshippers.

The Sleeping Buddha statue quite new, around four years and the only one in Bali. The monastery is old, but it was only inaugurated in 2007, It was said the Sleeping Buddha statue was made by a craftsman from Klungkung.
in the Dharma Giri Pupuan Vihara area there is also a Buddha statue sitting on a circle of snakes and lotus flowers, with an umbrella of 7 cobra heads, the main place of the Dharma Giri Vihara is the altar of prayer for Buddhists, only those who will pray are allowed to enter the altar and must leave your foot wear outside.
There is a shop there and there are many pigeons that happily to take the corn seed from your hand.

A wonderful out of the way Temple definitely worth a stop. The caretakers are incredibly kind and gentle. As expected, knees showing is forbidden however they will gladly lend you a sarong. A donation is encouraged. Washrooms, vendors, etc nearby to meet needs. Parking free. The giant white laying Buddha reminds me of the giant golden and giant green Buddha’s in Vietnam.

No entrance ticket just a donation,it’s open from 08.00 to 17.00.

Vihara with giant sleeping Buddha statue

Located in Pupuan area, Tabanan. The Vihara is very nice, peaceful and so relaxing. At the entrance they put a donation box, so visitor can donate whatever amount of donation. If you come with short pant then they'll lend you a sarong for free. If you don't want donate then it's okay....

Inside the Vihara, there's a giant statue of sleeping Buddha, with very nice face. Place in the middle of wooden deck, surrounding by pretty scenery, very beautiful....

There's a notice to remind visitor, that if you want to pray then you can go inside the main room, but if not then it's you can just walk around.....

It's a must visit when in that area.....
