Kebun Raya Bedugul or the Bali Botanic Garden is a vast national park overlooking lake Beratan in Bedugul, Bali, Indonesia.

It is my 2nd time in this beautiful park with several theme gardens. Unfortunately, most of the theme gardens were still not open to public due to health protocols. Nevertheless, I had a great time because my main reason for going to this park was to photograph birds. I am a Filipino hobbyist bird photographer.

I came as early as 7am so I was there when birds were most active during their early feeding frenzy.

After about 3 hours, my travel buddies met me at the park to visit the different sites and take our photos at the giant banyan tree and some other interesting spots within the park including a model Balinese home.

There's a shuttle service that can be availed at the park's entrance for a minimal fee.

Arrived here at a little over 8 AM and we were the first guests there. Entrance fee was 20k/person and 15k for parking. We got around by foot and it took us 4 hours to circle the place since we stopped a lot to take pictures. You could rent a bike, scooter, golf cart, or tour to go around but we wanted to stroll and get the immersive experience.

There was a directory map at the entrance and we took a picture of it so we could check where we were and where to go next. Unfortunately, all of the buildings were closed except for the temples. But that didn’t ruin the trip since my boyfriend and I got to see some cool plants and flowers, relax on a hilltop overlooking the Bedugul Lake, and had some good fun walking around breathing fresh air and enjoying each other’s company.

Side note, beware of leeches if you wanted to walk the tropical forest path. We needed to go through the knee-high wild shrubberies covering the path and I got bitten by one. They were mostly harmless but you might bleed a lot after they were removed. That path was scary mostly because I kept thinking of the snakes lurking beneath the undergrowth.

I spent about three-hours to walk around this place. I definitely will come back cause there are some places that I haven't finished to explore yet???? But I guess that I'd like to rent the bycicle because I was quite exhausted to look around by foot????. But so far it was a really nice place. It's a good place to have a picnic with your family!

Strolling around kebun raya in the morning with scooter is a great experience ???? but you need to pay additional price besides the entrance ticket to enjoy it

Great botanical garden! Especially landscape architecture, and unique trees in one area. I love this place in different weather conditions, for picnic in sunny and for the incredible atmosphere in fog. Many local people on cars, bikes, buses in holidays, better come in typical day early morning. Recommend to go to giant tree in the end of the path and if you like this - tracking to Tapak mountain.In garden you can buy simple food and water, like a bakso, instant noodles, waffles.

This place is always a great place to spend time with family and friends. Having a picnic, taking a nap under the trees are so so fun and relaxing.

In weekends, you can drive your private cars into the park (but bikes and busses should park outside)

On weekdays, since you are not allowed to drive your cars into the park, you can ride shuttle buses with an amount of fee

Bicycles and scooters rental is available.

It used to be quiet, calming and relaxing place. But now many people bring karaoke machine and singing loudly, cannot enjoy the calming sound of nature anymore. c'mon, if you wanna sing, there is a place called 'karaoke' and it is a lot in the town.
