The Suramadu Bridge (Indonesian: JembatanSuramadu), also known as the Surabaya– Madura Bridge, is a bridge with three cable-stayed sections constructed between Surabaya on the island of Java and the town of Bangkalan on the island of Madura in IndonesiA. Opened on June 10, 2009, the 5.4-km bridge is the longest in Indonesia and the first bridge to cross the Madura Strait.

One of the nation's pride, beautiful scenery. This bridge connects Jawa and Madura's island. The longest in the country.

This cable stayed design has original plan that can be opened when there are boats or ship cross below the bridge, but the implementation nowhere near there.

Funny things that within a week of it's opening, it was discovered that nuts and bolts as well as maintenance lamps had been stolen. And also vandalism had been documented too (wow.. so much of being indonesian, huh?)

Hope this Landmark stays strong until the end of the time, and govt keep maintaining periodically this beautiful monument.

Icon of the engineering in Jawa timur and it's simbol of unity between to ethnics groups. For me cross the Suramadu bridge means the beginning of new adventures, culture, friendly, food, fishing and nature in madure, in contrast with the big developed city of Surabaya... I love to live in SBY and enjoy the madura environment. Amazing

Lovely bridge conects Java island to Madura island. It's the longest bridge ever in Indonesia. You have to pay when your car has been passing through but motorcycles. What I love being here is its scenic view in the golden u0026 blue hours as well. The limitless colorful sky met the modern bridge architectural shapes!
