Nice and has a good view at the top of this Monument. But located in KOARMATIM Complex, indonesian navy places so a special visiting permit agreement to visit this Monument needed, or you can visit this Statue Monument when naval base open day, once a year

Went here on a Saturday at around 3pm, since it is a naval base access is limited. We could only get in if a marine stationed on the entrance come along with us. The monument is grand, and right next to it are rows of docked navy ships. The navy personnel onboard are very friendly and even let us up on deck a navy frigate, the marine was also a pleasant company for us group of four.

I came here today(Aug. 13, 2018) through a gate with security guards I believed to be the entrance into a navy base. The security guards do not stop me to enter the opened gate because it’s in the morning rush-hour and many people coming in. My Indonesian driver insists to get permission from the guards because it’s a navy base. After his request for permission, he returned and said we were not allowed to enter, then we left in surprise. I don’t know if my driver lied to me. But if this place is opened to the public, it shall have some notice(open time, permission or not, etc) at its navy entrance gate. But there is none, I was disappointed.

This monument has a height of 30.6 meters, which is supported by a 30-meter-high building. Statue on the monument depicts Indonesian Maritime Commander Army complete with his honor sword. In keeping with the look of the statue in the monument that stands proudly overlooking the sea, seemed ready to challenge the waves and storms at sea, as well as who want to show that the Indonesian navy is ready prevail. Jalesveva Jayamahe Monument is also in accordance with the motto navy Jalesveva Jayamahe meaning, At Sea We Berjaya. The monument was built by Chief of Army Staff of Indonesian Maritime followed by Admiral Muhammad Arifin and designed by Nyoman Nuarta. Aside from being a monument, the building also functioned as a beacon for ships in the sea around.
