Lung Yuan was one of the exclusive dim sum place in town. Owned by Sheraton hotel Surabaya, this chinese food restaurant was once very famous among others.
Today I had dim sum for lunch here, and experienced a little bit of disappointment in the taste. I ordered some basic dim sum items such as charsew pork bun, egg yolk bun, shumai, chicken porridge, and chang fen and they tasted not as good as I expected or at least as I remembered. The quality was much less than few years back, the shumai skin got chewy once it gets cold. Luckily I ordered two more a la carte menus which were prawn with mayonaise, and honey glazed pork and both of them tasted awesomely delicious.
As regards of this restaurant, the service was outstanding. The staffs were knowledgeable and super friendly. The food presntation was not bad, and the ambiance was fine even though this place looked old. With the promotions available the price had become proper.
