I will start with the building, because for me the history behind it was fascinating. Long story short (it was long story and they kept it the history in a piece of paper, framed it, and put it on the wall so everybody can learn), the house building was called Batavia Huis before it was Dutch Colonial building which originally located at East Pegangsaan st, owned and served as the main residence of Deputy Mayor of Batavia back in the 1920s. Only after Indonesia's independence at 1949 the house was taken over by vice mayor and chairman of DPRD of Jakarta. Then a lot of things changed with city development and everything in the 90s, the building was about to be demolished which led the present owner of Batavia Huis to dismantle the building and rebuild it again on today's location at Kemang Raya st. So basically the buiding was like a museum!
Locarasa is a combination between warung pasta resto and gelato bar owned by a well known chef, Ragil. It has outdoor area at the back of the house and surrounded by plants and trees, semi outdoor, and indoor area with ac (VIP area to be booked). Honestly, the place has a really comfy and nice vibes to just relax by yourself, hang out with family or friends. The service was good, friendly and informative staffs.
They served western and Indonesian meals. I've tried curly swirly (45k), tuna chunk pizza (50k), tambo ciek (35k), and baked mushroom fusili (45k). And close it with the infamous gelato of locarasa. As a lot of people mention, they have several unique yet tasteful taste of gelato such as kecombrang, martabak, klepon, etc for 35k/2 flavors. The taste of the meals was nice and on point, thumbs up for the thin pizza, loved it! Not so much for the chicken wings/tambo ciek though, too bad. I'll come again for sure!
