Great fusion food, great old concert-hall Dutch architecture, great value, but the acoustic's too loud especially for a venue with 99% wooden interior.

A historical building that was built in 1824 during the Dutch colonial era which was used as a concert, opera and meeting hall, is in the 'Kota Lama' Semarang (Old Town) area, this place is called Marabunta with the Semut (ant) icon at the top of this building.

Now this building is a restaurant and bar with many choices of food, drinks, cocktail, beer and liquor available. The ambient space in the inside of this restaurant is very depicting the situation of the colonial era with the use of lights, ornamentation and decoration which makes the atmosphere even more dramatic.

All corners of the room are excellent photo spots, spacious room but not too many tables, so it is better if you make a reservation before visiting. If you are a fan of live music, every night starting at 7 o'clock it will make the atmosphere seem to have returned to the past. A highly recommended place for you to visit.

There are quite a lot of varieties of food to choose from. Great ambiance, a very cozy place to chill. It’s really spacious so that customers will be seated far from other groups (important during the pandemic).

Waiters sgt attentive, quick to respond to our requests. Live music and DJ ????

The architecture and the building are stunning.
They cooked Indonesian Food. Some of them are OK , but some don't.
Price is quite High ( 1 person +/- 150k rupiah), but worth the experience.
Really recommend you to visit Marabunta while you go to Semarang.

Slow paced service, need to wait a bit long to be served. Probably since the place still new, it’s like they’re understaffed and their in training waiters are still confused about the menu even the name of the menu. They need to learn more in serving while doing physical distancing. I still got my order wrong even though it’s already been repeated before. The roasted peri peri chicken was too dry, the salted egg prawn aglio olio was good, the ribeye was bleh, the lychee and peach ice tea were too bland to taste. Food and beverages prices are above common rate so it’s pricey yet sadly the experinece is just okay. However, the place was great, really good ambience and a nice place to eat. You can feel the ‘European vintage’ style they offer. Valet parking is provided and it is free. It is best to the reservations first before coming.

Beautiful heritage restaurant in Kota Lama.. delicious food also..

But in this pandemic you should really carefull because it’s indoor restaurant.
Although the restaurant doing health protokol but the customer may obey it when they wana take a picture or chit chat while eating.

Authentic Historical building, rebuild to be a great resto and bar. Serving u with a great taste of foods..

It will amaze u, after u walk through the door. The interior, design, architec.. its totally awesome.

I give u a note.. most of time, dont dine in without reservation.. it always fully booked..
