Mostly at every museum in Indonesia sell a chep tickets at the entrance. It would coat you less than 2 dollars. Visit this place to understand Indonesian economic since 17 century.

The first time we went to the maritime museum, we were very happy because our children really enjoyed the explanation of information from the tour guide. Thank you very much to Mr.Firman for providing detailed information to us. Hopefully this museum will be known from all walks of life because maritime history is interesting.

You can see Sunda Kelapa Harbour from the top tower. Incredible view. Historically this place used to be 0 Kilometer spot before it change to Monumen Nasional.

The Maritime Museum is located in the old Sunda Kelapa harbor area in Penjaringan Administrative Village, Penjaringan Subdistrict, Jakarta, Indonesia. The museum was inaugurated inside the former Dutch East India Company warehouses. The museum focuses on the maritime history of Indonesia and the importance of the sea to the economy of present-day Indonesia. There was a tower called "Syahbandar Tower" that used to be a patrol tower watching ship coming from harbor and loading their goods. You can still feels the colonial era vibes in here.

I wish more people knew about this museum and more money could be spent on its upkeep and refurbishment. It's such a critical part of Jakarta's history and it's a shame to allow it to crumble away.
