I enjoy having my hot beverage in Monks in Cambridge. The ambience is great because you get a sense of space with a lovely landscaped backdrop and a relaxing water feature in a (relatively) quiet niche in a mall. There is a great range of hot and cold drinks - i have not tried them all but the latte is very good (strong rich flavor with creamy foamed milk), as was it's variant with brown sugar with milk and cream dripping into the coffee. There is also an extensive array of food choices for mains, snacks, and desserts - I've had the beef salad (great salad but the beef would have been better seared instead of the pale looking meat i was served), the roasted chicken and the burger were also very good (but maybe too much lean beef in the patty - more onions or fat etc might give better balance), the waffle was great. The service was good and the prices were reasonable.

Overall, this is a nice quiet spot secluded from the mall. It's a nice place to sit in. The items in the menu looks amazing and they offer a wide selection of dessert too. Would maybe revisit from time to time.

Ambiance ☆☆☆☆▪︎
Seating Area is nice and the water fountain is relaxing (despite the dirty cloudy colour). Lighting is also good and the atmosphere is comfortable.

Drinks
They offer a very wide variety of drinks in the menu and there are a lot to choose from.
Capuccinno ☆☆☆☆▪︎
From the taste and aroma, I could tell that the roasting, grinding, and brewing created a perfectly balanced cup of capuccinno with a bold body and chocolate like note. The serving temperature was also perfect. However, as you could observe from the picture uploaded, they dared serve a cup with a very bad looking latté art.

Service ☆☆☆▪︎▪︎
The drink was served promptly and service was quick and on point. However, when I complained about the cup, all the waitress said was, "what's wrong with it?" and proceeded to approach her other staff and started whispering and looking at me. There were no actions or apologies done at all.
I was apalled.

To the Management:
You have excellent coffee and menu, there is no doubt about it. Your barrista is also talented in brewing. However, please come to a common ground with all your staff to discuss what can and cannot visually be served. Also, please work on how to deal with customer complains with your staff. In my case, the waitress should have apologised in the first place and ask if I would like my cup to be replaced. I sincerely hope you can continuously improve your service level. All the best ????

A cafe in a mall's hallway. Nice idea, I love their services and food. However, I hate the part where the cakes are frozen delivery. Sometimes, you can taste the ice or frozen cream. It's still taste good, but not as good as the real cafe
