spending 1 night here. the room is nice and makes you feel like home. The neighbour area will gives you a unique comfortable vibes, peaceful and calm.. You could walk to Borobudur temple in less than 5' from here, and reach other famous tourism area (like svargabumi, punthuk setumbu and rhema church) in less than 5' by cars.
Will surely sleep here again in my next visit. Thank you, Tomo and Wening!!

The host and his wife were absolutely lovely. They were helpful, kind and friendly. The room was spacious. Air con was nice and cold. Simple breakfast of Nasi Goreng ( fried rice) was delicious. For the price, thei place is an absolute gem!!
Everything was perfect. Nothing to change. For the price, this place more than meets expectations.

Thanks to Pak Tomo and wife for the very warm welcome. We really enjoyed our stay in Genthong Homestay. We just called in the last minutes and luckily we got room and fair enough for our family. Just need one single extra bed and we good to sleep. They also informed us about the nice place to get dinner and breakfast. I would like to thank to their hospitality. We never got this such as friendly homestay like this. We definitely will be back if we visit Borobudur next time.

I stayed for few nights here. I love its queen size bed room. But I don’t really like its dormitory room. The gap was too much. I guess guests who chose to stay at dormitory should experience better.

My experience had stayed nights at its dormitory room:

1. Freezing cause there was no hot shower. Hot shower should also a part of minimum requirements for the dormitory guests. Especially if you targeting foreigners. They take shower before go to bed. Cold shower will be less convenient at night.

2. I stayed for days in the dormitory room but I never had my room cleaned everyday. I then cleaned my room by myself ????.

3. Also, I didn’t receive mineral bottle everyday. I guess that should be a complimentary that I should get everyday.

4. Moreover, on my first day I wasn’t given the room key because the host said that is the room rule here, but I was given locker keys so that I can put my things inside more safely. I saw my neighbors however were given the room keys. The rule then was changed on the second day. I was given the room keys although they are somehow broken I guess. Since still I can’t lock my room.

My experience staying in its queen size bed room was a lot much better. I spent around 800-900¥/night for the dormitory room, and around 2,000¥ for the queen size bed room. I have hot shower in my room, no toiletries however. You will only be given towel only. Its bed was nice. Tv cable was working. This room was equipped with an AC, I didn’t turn it on however. Overall, it was a lot better than the dormitory room.

Despite those experiences, Mr. Tomo and his wife were really nice and kind. That’s a big plus.

First time dormitory experience for me, specially not realizing it was mixed dormitory. Place is good for small budget stay. No hot shower. Coffee and tea provided. Only one small fan with no charging area in the room. You need to bring a different adapter to charge your phone if you are not from Indonesia.Coffee and tea provided. Nice leisure space for sitting and relaxing. But it's a smoking area. It's moderately clean. Very good host Mr. Tomo and his wife. Borobudur temple is just a 5mins walk from the property. More to see is the chicken church and sunrise in 'the hills'. Food won't be a problem to Malaysians .But it will be for other foreigners unless you stay in a hotel and u have hotel food. Otherwise, mktorbike ride, horse cart ride, tricycle (Trishaw) is common in Borobudur. Horses look sick though. I personally would not say Borobudur is a spiritual visit. It's more like a tourist spot. Maybe got to find different spot to meditate. Good luck guys!
