Having been to Ubud 4 times and each time trying a new Babi Guling eatery, this was by far the BEST I’ve ever tasted. This place is run by a very friendly couple, and it kinda felt like we were eating in their home. Don’t be deceived by the simple decor, the Babi guling was tasty and the sambal chilli absolutely AMAZING! Such a pity I couldn’t bring any home! Will definitely be back! Sedap! ????

This place is really amazing, I read a lot online saying the more famous places serving Babi Guling are almost tourist traps now (overpriced and not original quality) this is one that kept popping up as an authentic local style and it couldn’t be more accurate. Everything on this place of food in completely delicious and very well priced at local rates.

Great local restaurant visited by almost no tourists. I asked our guide where he eats and he said his favorite restaurant would be too spicy for me. I had him take me and the one dish they serve was the best meal of our trip. I love spice and this was perfect and the pork so tender. The owner was so happy a tourist came to her restaurant and even happier that we liked the spice. The cost for a full plate was $2 per person. The staff at our hotel was incredulous we went here and liked it. They said that while they all eat here and like it, they had never sent a guest here before because they thought it would be too spicy.

Babi Guling was OK, perhaps even very good. The sides were pedass - spicy - but not stupidly so. Tasty.

My problem is with tourist pricing. A total rookie move, but we didn't ask how much before ordering three. We were expecting to pay 30 or 40k, but were charged 50k. Maybe prices went up in a week, maybe we did a conversion wrong. In the final an analysis, what's a buck. Right?

Decided to go here after reading about it in some “best suckling pig in Ubud” articles. It is absolutely not touristy in any way. The meal felt unbalanced in the sense that the actual pig meat needed salt, but then literally every other thing was fried a bit too hard and salty. I enjoyed it overall, but definitely think there’s better suckling pig in Ubud.
