After closing for 2 years, this resort opened its doors in March 2022. The resort is somewhat dated and tired. It however retains a rustic ambience, with vines creeping up the walls of its grounds, and landscape as decided by nature. Next to the river, you wake up to sounds of the gushing river and singing birds, occasionally the screams of white water rafters, the same river sounds that lull you to sleep at night. It is peaceful and quiet. The night sky is full of stars and you can see fireflies around the tree tops below you. The night is alive with sounds of night creatures.
What is special is the team of very attentive staff, eager to serve with a smile and ever so patient. Try the spa and massage, the dainty looking masseurs with such strong arms to soothe away the knots in the muscles.
At the time of writing, only 6 villas were available. The pool was still undergoing renovations. There is a lot of work to be done as the resort was closed for 2 years.
If you are looking for peace, something to restore your spirit and soul, it is the place to be.

Ignore the poor reviews below, this place is AMAZING.

I booked the River View Villa for 2 nights initially, and extended it for another night. Great views, spacious and generous villa with top-notch service.

They have everything you need, and promptly deliver and provide any service requested. Staff always warmly greets you and ensures your needs are met. Case in point: the pool lights are spoiled thus super dark at night, but they offered to fix an external light and did so immediately.

Breakfast is wonderful, and I'm rarely a fan of hotel breakfasts. Only caveat is you need to walk quite a distance in and to your villa, and it's pretty dark at night, but they're more than happy to assist you with a buggy if requested.

It is a retreat in the jungle, thus insects and rustic decor is expected. Yet everything is functioning well and no insects came into my villa other than one stray moth.

All in all had a 12/10 experience here.

All around amazing place. We were right in the jungle so the sights and sounds were breathtaking. If you don’t like nature, don’t come here. I personally love it. I loved the frogs and geckos that allowed us to visit their space as they sang us to sleep. We got massages and wine and a floating breakfast in our infinity pool villa. The room seemed a little rustic and unused, but it had been closed for two years, so I can’t blame them. The water was hot and water pressure was good and the bed was soft and clean so I can’t complain. The staff were also very incredible and all seemed genuinely happy to help us. (We even saw the poor receptionist getting yelled at by a Karen and she kept a smile on her face and was very accommodating to someone so rude!) Dewa, the restaurant manager, made sure that our dining was 5 star. Never had an empty glass or dirty dish on the table. They even moved things around to accommodate a request for a private romantic dinner.
Amazing spot for a honeymoon. I highly recommend!

We had a great stay in a Jungle Villa. The crew is incredibly friendly and helpful. For our honeymoon we received special suprises from the staff. When we went on tours early in the morning, they always prepared an extra breakfast box for us. The shuttle service to downtown Ubud is extremely convenient. A wonderful hotel with very nice people. We will come back!

Very good service, breakfast and incredible views. They were very kind with us, the give us a Balinese massage, also they planned a tour to Mount Batur, even they drive us to our rooms with a car because it was raining.

But the rooms were a bit old. The bathrooms were very nice

Rundown hotel, in dire need of renovation (photo provided) . Definitely not five star. Felt like staying in an abandoned place. Zero facility. Could not sit at pool side because of bugs . The room wasn’t “that clean” especially the roof and corner. View amazing but couldn’t make up for the whole experience.

Way too natural, recipe for many insects, lizards and frogs. Frogs and lizards kept croaking through the night and were on the door of our villa, one small one actually got in called them every day through 3 night stay they couldn't remove it as they say ( it is not dangerous, it kills the mosquitos inside!!)
Insects, lizard and spider they got in every day.

Stayed there for 3 days. The view was stunning, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. The rooms on the other hand were not good. For the price we paid for, the rooms were poorly maintained, with low quality furniture, and a really weird hotel room setup. The shower is behind the bed out in the open, and the toilet is a porta potty. The light in the toilet room was flickering and made weird noises. The air conditioning was lackluster. At night, lizards would get into our room and stay on the ceiling, and I would hear rat squeaks and scratching on the roof. On our second day, the wifi got cut off for the whole day, and tv signal was cut off the whole day too. For a 5-star resort, this is really bad. No hotel that I have ever stayed in had that kind of issue. I would inform staff of the issue, and they would tell me the same thing about informing the engineers. Nothing was solved until the very next day. Food was below average, and my sister got food poisoning from the pasta that had shrimp, and was in a very bad state for the whole day. Breakfast was below average too. All the food felt very low quality, for the price that we pay for. Also, way too many stairs. Walking to the restaurant felt like a workout. Overall, would not recommend someone to stay here.
