Everything went perfect! The driver met us in our hotel and took us to the traditional market where he explained a lot about local fruits and vegetables. After that we went to the cooking class where we received q welcome drink and the hostess explained a lot about Balinese culture and how the family structure is. After that she presented all ingredients and explained the processes we were going to do. Then we started cooking with four other couples. We did a soup, seven other main dishes and a dessert. Everything was very tasty and very well explained step by step.
The location is also very beautiful and relaxing and the kitchen had a really good infrastructure for the cooking class. There was one stove and one food portion for every couple so everyone got to cook a lot and at the end we mixed all together.
I definitely recommend especially for the structure, the beautiful place and the very kind and caring hostess.

This is such a lovely cooking class I would definitely recommend it to everyone. The family is absolutely stunning and stellar. We were kind and patiently took their time and they were just absolutely a gem. So definitely recommend coming here to anyone who wants to learn how to cook balinese food. It’s very traditional and it’s absolutely gorgeous

This was such an amazing day - definitely one you should experience if in ubud or surrounds! Got to tour a local food market where tourists don’t usually go, and then arrived back for a fabulous day of cooking, eating, and learning about traditional culture! It was so well organised and set up, and we were able to be immersed in the cooking experience, whilst still having help from the family! The best meal we’ve had in Bali so far and couldn’t recommend this enough - really was a trip highlight for us!

What a great cooking class!
My husband and I took the cooking class today and can absolutely recommend it. We were picked up on time at the hotel by a friendly driver.
First we went to a small local market. There we were shown different fruits and vegetables and we got a lot explorations. In addition, we could ask many questions and try various varieties of fruit directly on site.
Afterwards we went to the incredible house of the family. Here we were welcomed with a drink and a small snack and learned a lot about the Balinese culture. The following cooking was super fun. Everything was explained in detail and we learned a lot about Balinese cuisine!
The food was incredibly delicious and the atmosphere was great. Thank you for the great day!!

My wife, daughter and I had a wonderful time as we were welcomed into Made’s beautiful traditional Balinese home. We were warmly greeted by her and the whole family and provided refreshments while all of the others arrived. Made guided us through not only the process of making by far the best traditional Balinese food we had tasted in our time in Ubud but also taught us about the Balinese way of life, traditions and medicinal benefits of the various ingredients we cooked with. Our time was filled with singing and laughter and a shared meal at her beautifully adorned dining table surrounded by the songs of the local birds, hums of the wildlife and meticulously groomed gardens graced by the wonderful company of the others that had joined us in this adventure.
It is safe to say this experience was the highlight of our time in Ubud as we continue to reminisce about our time together.

If you’re in Ubud, you need to visit Ubad Ubud Bali cooking class with Ayu and her team.

First, they’ll take you on a local market tour (no tourists) and explain the ingredients with which we’ll be cooking.

Then, Ayu would welcome you with a juice and rice pancakes with sweet coconut squash, a lovely welcome I must say.

Later she’d explain Balinese culture in-depth and you’ll definitely appreciate a woman’s perspective to the day to day challenges faced by them.

Lastly, they’ll teach you 9 recipes from soup to dessert, which you’ll get to enjoy as lunch later with the group.

They’ll even give you a very well printed recipe book, with a clear recipe of each dish.

It was simply amazing cooking class!
Everything started with a welcome drink and some sweets, because they are care about you if you are hungry! Then a beautiful woman Ayu explained a bit about Balinese culture and traditions. After that you begin to cook. Everything was explained in details, also they give you a small book with menu and recipes. After cooking soup you eat it and rest a bit . Then you Continue to cook, so you don’t stand all the time, which is really good for those who has some troubles with a spine :)
After finishing class you eat everything you cook, and it was very delicious!! I fully recommend this classes from Ayu!
