So first of all this resort is absolutely stunning. The views are beautiful, the rooms are nice and you are nestled in the jungle. That being said… you are actually trapped in the jungle at a resort with no gym, mediocre (at best) food, and terrible, expensive drinks. No scooter rental available and only 2 shuttles to and from Ubud are available in the morning and early afternoon, no evening shuttle. My partner and I splurged on our vacation and spent 3 nights here and after my initial photo taking sesh it was pretty depressing. $800 for the room, plus another $700 for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks, with no other food options beyond their more expensive sister resort, the Hanging Gardens. Not nearly as luxurious and awesome as it should be and we really wanted to love it. We spent a month in Bali and stayed in several different places. Every single other place we stayed which were all $50 and under per night were far better overall. The food and drinks were the worst BY FAR in terms of quality/options while also being the most expensive. Inconsistent flavors, preparations, sometimes with ice, sometimes not. I want to mention that the staff were wonderful and so nice/attentive/lovely so our experience has nothing to do with the overall service; we were treated very well. It seems like the owner of this place cuts a lot of corners to make money. I’m very curious where all the money we spent at this resort actually goes. I would say buy a day pass and enjoy the beautiful pool, take some pictures and then head down to central Ubud where you have tons of way better options that are far cheaper.
