Weekday for a late lunch is the perfect time to have some peace and quiet from the main street bustle of Ubud and to have the attentive staff at your side.
First the open air space is breezy, decor is aesthetically pleasing and inviting, everywhere and everything is clean, and table and chairs are comfy.
The menu offers a great balance of vegan, vegetarian and omnivore options so everyone is happy and your minds feel good that you're eating healthy, local and clean.
I had the Unbelievable sandwich with the moringa soup as a starter, and they paired so well. Good for me for making that choice!! What attracted me to the open-face chicken sandwich was the pickled strawberries, which was accompanied with avocado, chaddar, and vegetable toppings on rye and it hit the spot. Ive never had a combo of flavors like that on a sandwich before in Ubud so far, so compliments to the kitchen and chef.
Both the dirty ice Chai and the boost my immunity smoothie were hefty portions so pace yourself with yiur meal. I happen to have bigger eyes than stomach but I don't regret my decisions. The smoothie was balance so well I could drink it all day, not too sweet and not diluted or icy. Same for the dirty Chai - they provided simple syrup on the side but it wasn't needed.
For dessert, the coconut pancake flavor was light but the batter was dense, like proper cake-like than the traditionally thin pancake you're probably thinking of. Perfectly cool to end the meal on a humid afternoon.
I ordered the tuna poke bowl for take away for my sick husband at home. He said, "Next time, order me two of those." Not bc of portion but for the tastiness, just to clarify.
I will be back. Thanks for the excellent attention and friendliness during my meal, Leni and the rest of the team.
