Access is via an alley way from Jl Danau poso (road) at the level of the monument on maps. Google maps has it wrong same your can't access the artefact from their directions. Seeas my pics of the Alley way and sign.

Cool to see. Check out the little peaceful square which is adjacent. Has a few Hindu shrines and an old looking banyan tree.

A hidden gem in Sanur...not many people know of this place. When we went no one was there...a little nugget of history.

According to the Bali u0026 Lombok travel guide (Lonely Planet 15th Ed., 2015), this pillar is Bali's oldest dated artefact. It has Sanskrit inscriptions about military victories from over 1000 years ago. Apparently these show evidence of Hindu influence 300 years before the Majapahit court arrived here. Sadly the pillar is largely unknown and unattended apart from a tatty vistors' book. At least it is enclosed from the weather.

It was great to see this artifact. I found it fairly easy using Google maps. And you could read about on the sign and could see it clearly thru the window
