The Hermes statue is a legacy of the Dutch when they colonized Indonesia. Jakarta, formerly known as Batavia. No more monument here. In the past may be yes, but as the time goes by, this metropolitan city now very crowded with heavy traffic flow. Today, it's become pelican cross. This is strategically located behind the Presidential Palace. This location is also become the centre of the transjakarta bus route to everywhere in Jakarta and can transit in certain shelter for continuing trip to Bodetabek area. In the evening, you can find many street food 'gerobak kaki lima' close to the bus shelter.
