Bathrooms and common area are quite dirty. The WiFi didn't work but they say it wasn't their problem and they couldn't refund anything since "free WiFi" means you don't pay for it so they cannot refund something that is free (they will assure you there is WiFi before you book). Reviews on trip advisor show that people get scammed often.

And there is nobody in the house in case of problem, so you just have to wait for them to arrive to check out (not great if you planned on something at a specific time)

It's my first time staying in a homestay (so I might not fully understand what homestays usually are like) and what I can say about Koko homestay is that it's very basic, substandard even. 125k for a room with bathroom and 95k without. It's a place to sleep and shower. No frontdesk. No TV, not even in the communal room. And no towel either so bring your own if you plan to stay here. I read the comments before me and my bathroom was pretty clean. They should really clean the fan though. This homestay is actually located in front of the gate to Karangasem Resort Complex and not inside Karangasem train station, the place is only a three minute walk to a really nice cafe called Palm Sugar Cafe. If you want water to drink you will have to buy it at any nearby store. I used Gojek to go to Indomart Plus. Supposedly they also have motorbike and car rentals (Koko Homestay, not Gojek).

Worst bathroom ever! No need to go on Safari because we had a zoo in our room, it included a gecko, a lizard, spiders, mosquitos and some bedbugs.
Stay here if you want: shittiest shower ever, no electricity in the morning, if you want to be woken up in the middle of the night because someone is shouting 'Ijen, Ijen'. Then this is the place to be!

lack of mosquito nets in windows is a true problem.
we agreed to have a breakfast before we leave, no-one even woke up to say good bye not mentioning any breakfest before 13h trip by train.

Don't go there. Bedbugs, mosquitos, geckos, power and water outages... And the toilet is worse than train station's toilet.
