This is a historical house that now use as a museum. It used to be a house of BPM (Bataafsche Petroleum Maatschappij) Employee House, and now is part of Pertamina Housing Area. Dahor is name of this area. Actually all Dahor Area consists of various kind of wooden house with similar architecture. But, it diminished for Pertamina Apartement. This house is preserved as part of Balikpapan Heritage.

This museum have various photo about BPM activity in Balikpapan, Balikpapan Historical Photo, Balikpapan Old Map, and World War II documentation, since Balikpapan also part of the targeted area during WWII.

If you come to this museum, it is better to contact the museum before you come. So, you will get a guide that explains the details about Balikpapan history. The museum entrance is free.

You can find the history of Balikpapan in here. Lot of old photos during the WW2 and during the Dutch occupation.
