The statues were beautiful however it felt like you are continuously paying for things which ought to be included in th entrance fee. The park seems uneccessarily spread out so you walk through large empty spaces for a little while to see anything. You pay for a shuttle, entrance, to go up the statue. There are lots of tourist shops and Starbucks so it didn't feel that cultural. When we tried to enter the theatre to see the show we were told it was closed (people were already in there). No indication of when the next show may be. Lots of attempts to sell things and you have to leave through he souvenir shop.

Right behind Plaza Wisnu is the Garuda Plaza. There is a statue of Garuda's head and a giant bird's nest egg at Garuda Plaza. In Hinduism, the Garuda bird is a mount by Lord Vishnu. The Garuda bird symbolizes loyalty, trust and sacrifice.
Under the Garuda Plaza area there is the largest outdoor area in the Garuda Wisnu Kencana named Lotus Pond. In that area, visitors can take pictures and enjoy the outdoor atmosphere at GWK.

Very big place. Be prepared for long walks. Beautiful park with statues. Nice place to visit. Full of history and culture. Great place to visit. There is a traditional show. Awesome place for both young and old. Bring a portable fan and it can get quite hot. There is a small foodcourt with decent food. Crowded with tourist. More catered to the tourist. Overall a good educational park!

Huge place. Be prepared to spend a minimum of 2 hours here.

The traditional shows were our highlights. The trek to the statue was hard especially for the older or less fit individuals but not overly strenuousl.

The statue of Garuda is Vishnu mount, the mythical bird who is his companion, part of Mandala Garuda Wisnu Kencana, or Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), is a 240 hectares private cultural park on the Bukit Peninsula at the southern end of the island of Bali in Indonesia, 15 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport. Bukit is a limestone plateau with Uluwatu to the west and Nusa Dua to the east.
