write the reviews here for the truth behind this tiny 3stars hotel.

First of all, I've been worked with Hotel Pendawa Gapura for 1year and I had very bad experience as worker here. Working from 6am till 10pm non-stop even have no break untill almost 24hours. Welcoming the guests, made breakfast for the guests, cleaning all 25 rooms, cleaning the pool, and etc. I did it alone !

So what's the problem ?
They won't pay the salary they've promised, they told me they'll pay me acording to UMR in Bali especially in Kuta around 2,2-2,5milions / month, but they just made an argument that the hotel maintenance cost quite expensive so they need to save many more for hotel maintenance, shortly they paid me around 1,5milions for a month after I had arguments with the owner, thanks to the manager also helped me a lot Mr Li !. Okay I agreed with that and have no problem to get underpaid. But unfortunately they won't give me the salary, again. So I told them to pay me twice next month, they agreed. But they won't pay me untill next 2months and also they don't want to pay the manager, and other staff. How terrible.

For those who's looking for comfortable hotel I recommend you to find another hotel, don't choose this hotel.

They always overwokerd the staff without geting paid.

Dirty rooms, no toiletries, the shower is not well built so the water almost gets in the room. You are better off on the streets. We booked accommodation in 3 other places which were spotless. This one was the worst! Avoid! There are plenty nice places where you can stay in Kuta for the same price.

This place needs some serious TLC! Walked into the room and was overwhelmed by the smell of mould, the bedding was damp the toilet paper was damp, bathroom was dirty, we wanted to get out of there straight away. Customer service was average, one man was super friendly and sorry but another man didn't seem to care about anything. I don't know how this place has so many good reviews. I'm not a fussy person and this was by far the worst place I have ever stayed. Maybe the other rooms are nicer but stay away from number 12!

I have no idea why this place has such a high rating. This place is in dire need of a whole new revamp. Our room was not clean, the bathroom was very grim with stains everywhere including bedsheets. The toilet broke and we got moved to another room but the smell of mould is overwhelming. Again the toilet is really gross with lots of stains and the door doesn’t close. The tap was running brown water so we had to leave it running for a while before it turned clear.

This is the worst place I’ve stayed at in the whole of my trip in south east asia in terms of hygiene.

Shame the pool and outdoor area is cute but the lounge chairs looked like they haven’t been cleaned in months.

We stupidly paid for 3 nights upfront
WiFi isn’t great either.

It’s a real shame because if they just got their act together, spruced things up and did a deep clean then this place could be nice. Some of the staff members were really lovely and I know all of this isn’t their fault.

I’m not sure if it’s just the luck of the draw of what room you get here as some reviews of this place if the completely opposite to what I experienced.

Almost everything was perfect and a great value at 250k IDR per night during the busy season. The hotel is nearby many tasty, cheap warungs. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room was very nice with a lovely terrace.

Only negatives: The breakfast was hearty, but not very flavorful. I would have loved to have the option to have breakfast on my terrace instead of having to go to the dining hall. The messy guest room used to store supplies next to the pool was an eyesore in the otherwise beautiful garden.

Definitely only 2 star. Main issue is bathroom drainage is so slow that even a 2 minute shower floods the entire room. It then takes 30 minutes to dry enough to re-enter the bathroom safely because the floor is so slippery. (a low barrier around shower would contain the water u0026 fix this)
Our room needed a good clean (marks on walls etc) and a set of drawers to accompany the lone wardrobe.
TV is small with just a few local (non-English) channels u0026 no way to plug in HDMI to watch the movies from our laptop (which probably had a larger screen anyway).
Positives: Balinese architecture and gorgeous garden u0026 pool setting gives a very good Bali feel about the place. Location is good (100 mtrs from Lippomall). Mostly quiet. Bed is good u0026 so is aircon.
Overall 2 stars but with some work could easily be a 3 ti 3.5.

Good value for money, for about 20 USD/ night, one gets a nice and clean room. The place has a nice pool and garden where one can relax. The recliners though are under a tree with red ants, so beware of them. It's on a little alley off the main road, but very easy to find and very quiet at night. The hotel seems to be family-owned and the staff were very warm and helpful. Kuta Beach is about 10-15 minutes away by walking. If you're on a short layover in Bali, this is a good choice. Though Kuta isn't the best beach, it's still nice to get some sun.
