Yogyakarta Northern Square

As of June 2022 the North Square is still under renovation, the entire ground is being replaced by fine sand. Previously, the square was open access and often used for playground, festivals and fairs. Now, the entire perimeter is enclosed with iron fence, maybe it would be open again for special occasions in the near future. But, you can still have se traditional foods and drinks around the perimeter of the square.

Two trees on a free area. Partially a bit dirty and of trash.
Past the center of trees with closed eyes. Had a great vacation time. Seems the tales are true ????

Visit at the end of the afternoon on Friday, Saturday or Sunday (if I recall correctly) there may be some bird enthusiast that let their birds out. Very nice to see and good photo op.
Apart from that, just a lot of dead grass, but great places to eat around here.

The historical place near by Kraton Jogjakarta. A wide open space for people in Jogja to make activities such as exhibition, jogging, photography session and in depth exploration about Kraton Jogja

Large square for enjoying afternoon or night with some friends. There some food stalls and restaurants in the side of square. Suitable for relaxing and jogging.

If you want to play some fireworks, this is the perfect place. The parking lots are big and it does not cost much. There were plenty of street foods nearby, too, especially the famous bakmi. If you want to eat and have a good time chatting with your friends, Alun-Alun Selatan is a more suitable place.
