It was truly an underrated place! We try the batik workshop and made our batik only for 125k per person. The guide was kind and even though she doesn't speak english, she really helped us. I think this is a good place to visit whenever I went to Jogja!

We were here on family trip to Jogja. The staff is friendly, helpfull, and patient with children. The place in general and the toilet is clean. So it is nice to be here, especially if you also join the batik workshop (make your own batik). However the place is aging and some renovation/ upgrading/ modernization will be nice.

Private museum. If you really wanna know how Batik is made, history of batik, batik collections, each meaning of Batik pattern, workshop batik; this is recommended place for you. The guide is having good knowledge of batik.
Bonus: by end of the tour, u can see the embroidery collections of the owner of the museum. epic!
the only downside is the building needs to be upgraded, with better light and air circulation.

Really nice place to learn how to make batik. The trainer really patient to teach us. If you want to have a fun activities about culture, you must visit this place. Hopefully the management will do the renovation for the building and facility, it would be convinient for the visitor

I loved it. The guide has a very deep knowledge about batik, its history, media, techniques, and cultural influences. Their display room showcases the representations of batiks of Java and its enculturation with Chinese, Japanese, India, Arab, and Dutch, also known as Peranakan.
With such a great presentation from the guide and its collections, you would learn and know more about batik. They even provide daily workshops for visitors to have batik making experience.

Interestingly, this is a private owned museum, showing the batik and embroidery collection of the late owners. The family runs the batik business for five generations. Be sure to support the museum by taking the Batik course. A batik painting course package cost less than USD$10 and worth the experience.

The artisans will teach you while continuing making their own hand crafted batik, so you can see how they work, slowly and carefully finishing each piece of batik, which approximately take 3 months to finish.

The museum is not much to see, but the course is the one to experience, to appreciate the effort of batik crafting is.

Good for our niece, she can learn to how to make Batik*with her own color. The assistant until all process done. Very educated things to do on school holiday!???? few option to choose duration and pay visit to Batik museum. @75,000/2 hour. Close at 3pm on saturday.
