Another traditional delicacy in Yogyakarta, located inside the Bringharjo market on 2nd floor makes another ambiance in enjoying this stir fried beef. They serve with rice and condiments also raw vegetables. Some likes to add petis daging ( meat paste with molasses consistency like) . The price is affordable the taste is just like many Jogja dishes, it’s a bit sweet.

I had empal and paru goreng. The empal is the highlight. It melts in my mouth and so flavourful. The great part is that you can take as much sambal bawang and petis as you want. The combo of the spicyness of the sambal bawang and the sweetness of the (jogja style) petis sauce perfectens the dish. I think Bu Warno has the best empal in Jogja. The tenderness of the beef/empal is so incomparable.

Decent Food and price, but I think it's overated. The taste only decent not perfect. I think the neighbor, Empal Juminten is a lot better and more tasty for me.

For local it might be expensive, for jakarta's people it's quite ok

A must visit place whenever in Jogja, the beef meat is savoury, tender, easy to chew. With Sambal korek, which is fragrant and very spicy, also the Petis Daging, like sweet soy sauce but with beef broth taste-like

saw a blogger review this place. nothing special. empal and koyor were chewy. it was so so..a bit disappointing consider the effort to find this place
