Short Introduction about this traditional place, the legend has it that this restaurant was once in the Star Cinema back in 19xx. Their authentic homemade food has never ceased to please everyone especially those who already knew Kafe Star in the first place before moved out, in other word, the old timers.

According to the society and market price, I would say Kafe Star is quite pricey. Speaking of their skillful homemade techniques however, I recommend you guys all of their food but fried rice of any kind.

one of the places to eat in Solo that has been around for a long time. the special menu is Tahu Pong. You can also need to try the Gado-Gado and Soto Babat!

Their family started this restaurant since 1955 as a canteen at Star movie theater Jalan Widuran Solo, became famous of selling Nasi Timlo, Nasi Bakpui, Tahu Pong, Sosis Solo and Racikan Selat - local beef steak with mustard.
Until today Kafe Star still serve their signature cuisine, location still at Widuran around 100 meter from original outlet.
Price here for nasi langgi Rp 20.000, compared to nasi langgi at Kafe Star Jakarta is Rp 35.000 each portion.
Also selling many traditional snack and light meals from Solo Central Java area.

Great place to eat Selat Solo dish. It taste great! Highly recommended.. however, do not order traditional drinks (jamu) taste very strong.

Recommended foods to try: Selat Solo(beef), garang asem (chicken), gado-gado (vegetables in peanuts sauce).

Very nice old restaurant... this restaurant established around 60 years ago not to far from recent place (there was a bioskop Star), serving home made authentic javanese (Solo) menus such Tahu Pong, Galantin, bakmoy, soto etc. The place is not too bis but clean, price ia very affordable. Come and try, u'll love it !

Nice and simple place to get your breakfast. The restaurant is quite small and only 8 people can take place there. The menus are ethnically Solo and the price is very acceptable. Low budget small restaurant!

Almost all of the food are tasty, but sadly not for the fried rice. Place is ok, but you have to park in a roadside if you go there by car.
