Legendary resto in surabaya but somewhat just stumbled upon it. Quite surprised when i saw a this restaurant. The vibe is superb and there is a private area for special event. Price is super affordable. Taste of food is excellent.

The place is comfortable, cozy and spacious enough for groups. If it's crowded you can park the car across as well. The food is delicious and the price is still appropriate, not too expensive, the service is also good

Great food! The place wasn't crowded when we visited. The parking space is a little tight though. The egg tofu is a must-try!

So here is one of the Indonesian restaurant in Surabaya that offer so many traditional menu. I think the taste is ok with the price but the drinks here is so pricey in my opinion. The good thing about this place is the ambience when you want to eat lunch and have some discussion with your colleagues.

Pada saat pandemi corona kembali kesini, semua prosedural kesehatan okay.
So back talking about the food and the service.
The service SOP is applied by assigning one spesific person to our table. He reacted quickly but somehow it is not easy to explain in details what we asked him to bring to our table.

Ok now the food. We order sop buntut, rawon, mie goreng Jawa, ikan gurami Rica rica, kerang hijau saus padang, es soda gembira and ice sweet orange.
Somehow, all the ice sweet orange is literally too much sugar, we can fix it by asking for water and ice cube. The food is good, but to my palate the salt is a little bit too much, spesifically in mie goreng Jawa. Mie goreng Jawa is quite authentic, adapted to restaurant style. Using yellow noodle with slices of cabbages as I assumed cooked in a high heat wok with sweet soy sauce and several local spices. Cuts of boiled egg added to it, also crackers, cuts of cucumber and chili pickles. Taste good actually but I'm not a fan of too many ch salt in my food, but for my group they seems okay with it.

The gurami rica rica is good, loves the rica rica sauce, we asked to seperate the sauce from the fish because not all of us can eat spicy food. Their Rica rica was made from cube slices of tomato with slices of chili, lime juice and some other ringredient so it has refreshing taste accompanying spicy from the chili. When you eat it with the fish it taste great (I assumed the deep fried it in very hot oil for a short time and finished it on the grill). I asked for sweet soy sauce to balance the spicy taste from rica rica.

Rawon is one of original Indonesian food, a black beef soup, coming from 'kluwek' taste good, a feel of homemade food, add with the sambal, sprouts and splash of lime juice, make it perfect, eventhough one of our friend actually expecting more that the usual homemade taste (depends on what you are expecting)

The sop buntut (oxtail soup) taste good with clear light and refreshing soup, with the weet nest coming from the carrot and beefy taste from the oxtail. What it is lacking actually from the oxtail itself. It is not cook long enough on low heat, so the oxtail is a bit tough for us and still have strong beefy taste (again, because it is not cook long enough) but the overall taste is good.

Kerang hijau saos padang (padang style sauce green clamps) is good, the sauce taste great (a bit too salty too my palate but when you eat it with rice the saltiness is okay) the green clamps is big enough. you take one clamp add their sauce in the shell, plus paprika and a spoonful of rice,it is heaven bless for the taste ???? when it reach your mouth.

So I will add more details when next time I visit here for another dishes.

Comfy big tall restaurant, full of wood interior. Clean, traditional but modern look. They have private room to accommodate up to 8 or 10 people
