Bebek Palupi, Jalan Rungkut Madya No. 77 Surabaya is a small roadside restaurant that serves Fried Duck, Fried Chicken, Fried Catfish and tempeh and fried tofu which is legendary among street culinary connoisseurs.
With simple facilities, Parallel car parking along the road is still safe, guided by a parking attendant, there is no special air-conditioned room, only a fan from the ceiling, a simple squat toilet that is quite clean, and a stainless sink with hand soap. There are several sets of long tables, for each 10 people, with a capacity of approximately 70-80 people.
The food menu is based on fried food and typical East Javanese chili sauce complete with fresh cucumber slices and fresh basil leaves.
Drinks are available in bottles or served in hot and cold glasses.
1. Regular and Jumbo Duck Review
The Duck Goreng tastes the same but there are 2 choices, regular and jumbo duck. Ordinary duck meat is not too fat but still tender, while jumbo duck meat is fatter and fatty. Fried not too crispy, very tender, easily shredded and still runny, the seasoning is salty and savory but doesn't spoil the taste of the duck meat and the rich spices seep into the meat.
Both are luxurious forms of simple traditional preparations in the form of duck but with a high taste that makes you feel like you are coming home to your mother.
2. Fried Chicken Review
Fried chicken tastes the same as fried duck, savory salty and rich in spices to seep into the meat, which is tender, juicy, so easy to shred, the sensation feels like my mother's fried chicken at home.
3. Fried Catfish Review
The fried catfish is harvested at the right age, seasoned well, doesn't smell fishy, u200bu200bthe savory taste tempts the tongue. The outer skin of the catfish is crispy all the way to the tail, but the meat is still tender and perfectly cooked. Served 2 tails per serving, not enough for true catfish connoisseurs, four servings is the best answer to appreciate the reliable cook of the restaurant "Bebek PALUPI"
4. Review of Tempe and Fried Tofu
Tempe Goreng has a distinctive soybean taste, still the same taste as tempeh when we were little, as well as Kediri's typical fried tofu which is soft and chewy, the perfect combination to cover our homesickness. Served separately, per serving contains 4 pieces.
5. Duck/Chicken Liver and Gizzard Review
We never got it because it was not early in the morning, so we will review it on our next culinary trip, okay....
Duck, chicken, catfish, tofu, tempeh and liver and gizzard will make us reluctant to move when chili is always accompanied in each serving of the order. Personally, I like the sambal uleg served on a clay plate that usually accompanies the catfish and fried tofu or tempeh, but the fried chili sauce served in a small bowl that looks like a pirate's sauce is also enough to blow up the taste of duck, chicken and others. Our longing for Mom is unstoppable...
