Bamboo Forest

Small bamboo forest in town, could be interesting for some people visiting surabaya and looking for a green space. The place is connected to a pocket park called “Taman Harmoni” which has a small playground for children. Some corner of the park can be used for picnic.

The parking place is not so big but can accommodate to motorbike and cars. No official parking management, so you will have to pay to local people who watch the parking area. I paid 2k for my motorcycle. Otherwise both the bamboo forest and Taman Harmoni are accessible for free.

Too bad at some side of the bamboo forest there are many trashes left on the ground.

Nice park not far from MERR highway. Children can play freely in kids area surrounded by trees. Foods and beverages in the food court are good and come with reasonable prices. You can also karaoke for free in the food court. Other than those, car u0026 motorcycle park have enough space even in the weekend.

Looks really nice on the pictures and it looks nice in reality too but not really that amazing.
It's a nice break from the city life though.

Let's get it straight, it's bamboo growing next to the road and that's about it.

It can be difficult finding a real parking lot, I was riding a bike and I found two guys providing guarding of the bikes at the beginning of the forest so if you're riding a bike you will at least find somewhere to park.

Get prepared to bring mosquito repellent as you otherwise will be eaten alive.
Forest, shadow and a small stream close by makes the place ideal for mosquitoes to thrive.

Trash. Unfortunately once again Indonesia doesn't surprise with the huge amount of trash laying around everywhere. It can even be difficult to take a picture without clearing the photo area from trash. Without the trash the place would be a lot better as for many other places around in Indonesia.

Nice place for photo hunting.
Great view and quiet place.
Unfortunately, this place was dirty, so many trash here that disturb the view.
Hopely, all trashes will be cleaned immediately and cleanliness will be improved.

Free entrance fee.
You just pay for parking fee, IDR 3k / motorcycle.

This place has so much potential! It just needs the people of Surabaya to love it. Please don't leave your litter and rubbish here. Don't race your motorcycles through the bamboo groves. It has the beginning of a great garden. Cherish it and you will have something to be really proud of.

This place is first a landfill, then the government used it to be a nice park. With a good bamboos field. People use it for pre wedding photo section this day.
There's a jogging track too beside the bamboo field..
It's a quite good place for your Instagram feed.
