Food tasted good, it's just the service isn't that great. Waiting too long for desserts and we asked after 30min, they answered from afar (instead coming to us - the place was quite empty btw) saying "yea wait, it's still on process", I mean..tf..we waited 30++ min for some scoops of ice cream, was it that hard to serve? No apologies for waiting too long from them though or maybe it's normal? Idk????

The food was great, price is above average, but sadly they must improve on hospitality. We arrived around 8 PM, which was close to their last order at 8:30 PM, but that shouldn’t justify the lack of warmth from one of the waitress to us.

We assumed that she might just felt tired waiting tables until closing time, hence the attitude at us that day. Yet reading some of the reviews here, it seems like it is an ongoing issue that’s never been addressed properly by the merchant’s management.

One of best authentic yet affordable Japanese restaurant chain in the town. Serving quite wide range of choice including "home-made" style of food. Taste is rather bland to Indonesian's standard but it's very good somehow. Place is clean, service is good, not too crowded even it's dinner time. Easy access. So, it's recommended.

Reading through all the reviews mostly about service. Yes I cant agree more. The way the waitresses talk to customer should be immediately improved. There is no touch of Japanese service at all. Asked for refill my tea but I got a bill and the tea cup just left unrefilled. Called several times and waited and called… if you dont want to refill often then change the glass size to maybe 16 oz ?

I prefer Ootoya from the early days of their arrival in Jakarta. Having said that, their sets are still fairly priced and quite decent tasting. Service was also efficient though it lacked warmth. The rice now a bit too mushy for my taste and didn't arrive steaming hot like the early days. Beef dishes a bit hard, fried items not crispy enough. Sushi, skip. Best bet is to order their still stellar grilled fish dishes. Hope they improve soon.
